Sumala, a name feared by the people of a village in Semarang Regency from the past to the present. No one dares to go out when night falls because Sumala will come to kill.. Just saw it in the bioskop near me… BTC Cinema in Pasteur. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the film. I really, really enjoyed it. Having been disappointed by recent films like Siksa Kubur and Susanna, Sumala, executive produced by Luna Maya, was a breath of fresh air. I saw the trailer before and really didn’t want to go see it. But my wife dragged me and I reluctantly agreed. Boy, did I enjoy it. Full marks for all the acting and Maykala the child stole the show. Solid performance all round 👏. While I would have preferred to see more of Satan, she was the devil’s daughter, I also suspect some scenes were left out to reduce the running time. I’m a fan of gore slasher movies like Friday the 13th and Elm Street and this movie lived up to my expectations. So kudos to the director 👏 and producers, I really enjoyed it. One last note, this movie just lacks artistic cinematic shots… like drone shots, close-ups of feet and faces. And too much music where silence is much preferred. MORE please, what’s next??
