It wouldn’t have exploded, it would have been better if he had been hit with it… Aside from a few dead bodies and some screaming, there’s nothing even remotely reminiscent of a horror movie.
All white people are bad – I get it
The obvious racial subtext really ruins the story, and there’s nothing subtle about it. The acting is terrible, the dialogue is laughable – the son asks his widowed father if he’s gay because he doesn’t date (?).
The accents are inconsistent and nonsensical
And by the way, I can’t think of a single scene or sequence in the movie where I actually felt scared, tense, or cared about any of the characters. Honestly, all this crazy Appalachian racism in movies is really tired. Scary movie. Don’t watch.
